Easter Bunnies

Some lovely Easter chocolates in the window of a London Chocolatier.  And in my favourite shades of pink and purple!
Happy Easter!

Desert Island Scarf

There are not too many scarves pulling me on the SS12 collection (thankfully) but this is one I did like and I had to try a lot before I found a cw I liked.

Not my usual colour choice as you know!

Le Robinson Chic
I like the leaf overlay detail.

Le Robinson Chic - brought back childhood
memories of watching Robinson Crusoe on TV
 - maybe you used to watch that series too?
I found the theme tune on You Tube - maybe
you will like it too?
Lots of detail in this scarf -
here you can see Ex Libris en Camouflage

The very well hidden copyright!

The scarf detail.

This purple in the scarf really pops
but the photo does not show
the true vibrancy of the colour!

My favourite way to wear a 90cm.

Friendship Knot - worn with pink

And again with red.  Quite a versatile scarf.

I think the scarf will look great with lots of colours and for summer a white shirt will be good too.  The orange is a muted orange I think - a bit burnished - it will make a fabulous Autumn scarf too in this cw I have!
Hope you liked!

Pleated Bow - How To

Rosi asked recently if I could post a "how To" for the pleated bow I have used occasionally (also known as the Robee Knot on TPF)  so I have attempted to do some instructions!  Here goes with help from my Hermes L'Ivresse d'Infini scarf:-
1. Lay your scarf out somewhere flat as you
will need space to pleat it up.

2. Start to pleat the scarf up into layers -
I find pleats of about 4-5cm works best.

3. Keep going until the scarf is all pleated.........

4. .......into one narrow strip........

5. .....like so.

6. Next CAREFULLY pick up the pleated strip
and place it around your neck. You can see
it is already opening up by itself!

7. Do a single knot ......

8. .....now you can wear the scarf like this
or carry on.....

9. .....to tie a full Half Ascot Knot (how to here) to give
the frilly bow look.  If you do not have enough
length to make the bow around your neck
or it is too tight ( you need a pretty thin neck to do
this knot - I find it a bit tight)
then I found an alternative:-

10.  If you have a large scarf ring or shawl ring
(MT Collection) then you can use this to "tie"
the scarf which leaves a lot more length to play
with than the Half Ascot Knot and is
more comfortable.

11. Slide on the ring to one side keeping the
pleats in place as best you can -  you may
need to give a little twist so they sit
correctly for the frills.

12. Put the other side of the scarf through the
ring as well.  As here you can wear
the bow at differing lengths
for a layered effect or.......

13. You can pull the scarf through the ring
further to even up the length and I
think this gives a pretty good "copy cat"
effect of doing a Half Ascot Knot  but this
is good as it allows for a larger neck.

Hope this helps - Have fun!

A Fishy Tale

I went to Monaco last year as you know and I went to the Aquarium at the Oceanographic Museum.  They sell  the Hermes scarf Grand Fonds by Annie Faivre.  Anyway I decided that I would like one so I ordered a blue one by email recently so as well as adding to my collection hopefully the purchase will have helped the Museum's work as well..  Here she is:-
The orange box.

First peek at the scarf.

The scarf in full.

Closer detail - love the pinks in this.

The lovely fish weave between the plants
just like the real thing!

Artist's signature A Faivre.

Lovely pinks and oranges against a
vibrant turquoise.

And it even looks good with cerise!

Double Twist Knot - How To

As promised here is a "how to" for the Double Twist Knot using my new Hermes Tresors Retrouves in cw 06  - I hope it helps!
Start with a Basic  Fold draped
around the neck.

Pass the right tail over the left -
so the original right becomes the new left

Then pass new right over new left

Take both ends of the tails and pull up
towards neck/shoulders.

Take the ends around the back and secure
in a knot or with a scarf ring if you want a
flatter finish

Arrange the folds to look neat and tidy - job done!

What's Pink and comes in an Orange Box?

This new shape Hermes bag came home with me from Venice.  Let's peek inside:-
I like how Venice H always tie a
bow around the handles.

Another Pegase Box & the Scarf booklet
came from Amsterdam Airport

2012 Bolduc Ribbon

The English translation...

Peeling back the paper.

Yep you've seen one before...

Tresors Retrouves cw 06 - Rose Indien/Vieux Rose/Or
The scarf has an orange contrast hem.
I just loved this pink when I tried it in Harrods.
It is a delicious combo of pinks.
The best bit about buying it in Venice was a £13
saving thanks to the euro/£ rate being in my favour
for once LOL!

A close up of the lovely purple"pips".

Pleated with MT Sunshine Horn Shawl Ring -
this ring copes with the thickness caused
by pleating the scarf.

Pleats but one side slipped through loop rather
than the ring like a cross over knot.

Cowboy drape - not very secure?

Cowboy with knot to the top.

Cowboy/Cossack with knot hidden by
folding the top of the scarf over.

Basic fold passed through Shawl ring.   The shawl ring
is curved which fits my neck well for this look.

Cross over bow knot - I love this one!

Double Twist knot - "how to" to follow soon!

Friendship Knot. Instructions here
Hope you like the latest addition to my ever growing scarf "family".
