A Scarf Change

Anyone who visits Harrods will know that next door to Hermes is Christian Dior.  I wandered over after a H visit and there I found some very pretty scarves....so here is my first foray in the world of Christian Dior scarves:-
A really lovely box wrapped with ribbon.....

Inside is a SS12 version of the limited edition Anselm Reyle scarf.  This one is a 70cm x 70cm - one of my favourite sizes.  As soon as I saw this lovely fresh combination of cerise and bluey-purple I had to have it!

This particular scarf is the same price as a Hermes 70cm, but Dior do sell others for slightly less - although the silk is not as heavy as this one is - this AR is comparable to Hermes 70cm for sure.
The camouflage pattern.

Cowboy.

Bow knot with medium scarf ring.

Slip knot with medium scarf ring.

And my current favourite way to wear a scarf -
keeps my neck nice and warm!

I enjoyed playing with this scarf and I am really very happy with my first CD scarf and it is not going to be my last......

  1. What a gorgeous scarf. I think about Dior scarves every once in awhile, then forget to take a look when I'm near a boutique. I think you made an excellent choice in this pattern and in those colors! XO, Jill

    1. Hi IrisJ - yes quite a departure to go to Dior, but I am really happy with this scarf - as soon as I saw it I had to have it - the pink in it just screamed "buy me" - so I did LOL! SA:-)

Have you bought any Hermes 70s this season ?
I have my eye on Mustangs and , after seeing a tpf member in Clic Clac a Pois I realised how cool it was .

    1. Thank you Estrella - actually no I haven't bought any H 70cms for a while - I too like Clic Clac a Pois though and have my eye on the one PT has but now I have found Dior.....SA;-)

  6. Hi, love the scarf. However feel the ribbon on the box slightly detracts from the box. The scarf is good. Is it as good in real life? I recently purchased Givenchy scarves and to be honest in real life not as good as on internet - very disappointed. The Givency print was like something off a bad cut and paste mixed with bad adobe.

However I am very excited about www.thescarfboutique.co.uk if this really is a Central St Martins grad and won the Liberty award then this is someone special.

I am also not happy with latest Hermes also Alex Mc I dont know whats going on there creating prints which you find in every cheap shop and fakes

    1. Glad you like the scarf - it is the star of the show not the box or the ribbon. I only buy online if I have seen a scarf IRL - I need to be able to feel the quality of the silk before parting with my money! I agree about Hermes, not much excited me this season and their price hikes were just plain cheeky which is partly why I wandered over to the Dior counter! SA.

  7. Beautiful scarves from Dior. The tying ideas are great and well displayed. The Dior scarves are well crafted with elegant design and purpose. Having a collection of silk scarves is a must for every fashion conscious woman.

  8. I was wondering if you would 'come out' with your new Dior scarf and was pleased to learn something of their silk products having never looked at their goods before. They certainly anticipated your tastes in this pink and purpley blue camouflague!

Given the ongoing discussion about H price rises and the assumption that we'll all embrace it, I congratulate you on voting with your feet (if not your heart).

I'm dealing with the issue in a less bold manner: restricting my H scarf purchases to just two or three - PT's brown/black/navy 70cm and the blue/orange gavroche in the Clic Clac en Pois design have made the cut so far.

  9. Thank you PW - glad you like. the silk is good quality and I am happy with it. The SA remembers me too which is nice! I have since added to the collection.....;-) I agree with you though the Clic Clac PT has is rather nice but I am resisting for now! SA:-)
