Les Canyons Etoiles Bandana

So following on from the intro to the new bandana which you can see here I have done some photos of ways to wear it:-
A simple bias fold here secured with moyenne
scarf ring and sliding both ends through the ring

Here I have done a slip knot using the
moyenne scarf ring - that's securing one end
of the scarf through the ring and then pulling
the other loose end through the loop of the

scarf rather than the ring itself.

Here I have made a half bow knot - as per the
slip knot above, but fold the loose end
in half and pull through the loop to make a
bow, fan out to make a bow shape.
This is one of my favourite ways to wear a
scarf and very easy to do.
Here I tied a Half Ascot Knot and slid the scarf to the
side - you can wear it to the side or centrally as
shown below.

For this look I made a bias fold then put the scarf
around the neck and brought the ends to
meet in the front and secured them with a petite
scarf ring - it is snug but warm, especially if you
have a sore throat - they say silk is supposed to help cure it!

A simple cowboy look - fold scarf to make a
triangle and tie at the back or use a scarf
ring to secure.

Same again but shorter - I secured this
one with a scarf ring and pulled the
ends further through to shorten the look.
As above only I pulled the scarf round to the side -
using a scarf ring for this loo allows the scarf to
sit a bit flatter round the back/sides.

This was just a triangle secured at the front with my
moyenne scarf ring for an easy to wear look.

Here I used the bias fold again, slipped a
nice scarf ring on to the front and tied the
scarf with a knot at the back - of course this
would look much better over a polo neck
rather than my open neck shirt but you
get the idea!

Bias fold knotted in the middle and secured
with a knot tied at the back.

Here I made a butterfly knot from the bias folded scarf
using a scarf ring which give s a nice puffy bow look.

I think you can see that with a bandana you can pretty much choose the same knots and bows as you do for 70cm or 90cm - just play around with it and see what you com up with!  Have fun playing!

A Day At The Races?

My next scarf is one I saw on the SA in Manchester when I bought my Bateau Fleuri.  I loved the colours straight away.  So whilst I was in Paris in July I went to the Rue de Sevres Hermes and again I was in luck they had the exact colourway I wanted:-)
The colours and pattern are right up my street.

Steeplechase by Virginie Jamin.  The little jockeys are cute!

Recent Acquisitions 3

For years I have coveted the Christmas Scarf by Dimitri Rybaltchenko Noel au Faubourg 24.   I have watched and watched AND watched on Ebay for this design so I was delighted when I finally found it in plisse form and in PINK!  I love this pink version (although I think THE one to have is the turquoise)  and being a plisse has the added benefit that you cannot really see that it is a Christmas scarf so you can wear it any time -especially as it is pastels it works any time!  I got his from a Japanese seller so I did have to pay some import tax on it but the price was still no more than you would pay here for a new scarf.  Also plisses are no longer made by Hermes so I was even more happy to have another plisse.
The snow globe containing the Christmas scene at FSH including tiny shoppers with orange bags!
Some butterfly knots and an equestrian with Half Ascot Knot
Some simple drapes with a scarf ring (oops the Equestrian got in there again!)
And some nice half bows and then in the last photo I just kept threading
the ends from the half bow into the scarf ring to make a pretty multiple bow.

Recent Acquisitions 2

I am going away for a couple of days tomorrow, however I have another post for you to enjoy.  So one of the next scarves I got was a vintage La Reale.  I had to wash this one when it came as it had a strong smell of perfume (and still does) and one or two marks that have come with its age, however it is much better for the wash I gave it!  The silk is beautifully soft and has the feel more of the 70cm scarves that you can buy today.  Whilst the colours are not the best for me I wanted a La Reale in my collection and for the price I paid this met the requirement nicely.

La Reale
Some close ups of the scarf detail.

Some ideas of how to wear the scarf - here mainly simple drapes

and some knots using a scarf ring.

The Colour Purple

So today was a lovely sunny spring day (if very windy) and my crocuses were really enjoying the sun. This lead me to get out my NYC souvenir....

A trip to Madison Avenue yielded this.
