New York Souevnier Part 2

So now I have 2 De La Mer au Ciels - you can see the first one here and wearing it here - I hope you will quickly see why I had to have the 2 cws - they are very different.  I have to say that navy blue and I go well together it is "my" true colour  - I don't know what it is but whenever I wear the navy (as opposed to my beloved pink) something just clicks and looks so right.  Do you have a colour that clicks for you?
Anyway let's see the new scarf in action:-
Simple bias diagonal fold and drape.

And on the opposite diagonal fold.

Half Ascot Knot

Half bow knot using a scarf ring

Equestrian look secured with scarf ring
in MoP which matches perfectly both in
colour and being a material from the sea!

Equestrian tied with Half Ascot Knot.

And same again on the other diagonal....totally
different look!

Friendship Knot.

Another look at the blue diagonal drape!

Now tied/secured with my silver ring.

And then the by-pass "knot" using
the ring as shown below

By pass knot - not really a knot but pass
the ends of the scarf on the horizontal
through the ring which lies sideways
for this look.

The Butterfly Knot made with the ring.

The blue side  for another half bow knot.

Cossack - blue side.

Cossack grey side.

Cowboy blue side - secured with
MoP scarf ring.

Cowboy with ends left loose.

Shoulder wrap with butterfly knot.

Another shoulder wrap.

And the above knot pulled to the side for
a classy look.

Scarf draped - folded on the square.

And the same square fold drape on
another side of the scarf.

This scarf certainly is versatile and I have a
feeling it will work with lots of other colours.
I think this is another neutral a bit like the
La Femme aux Semmelles de Vent in the
neutrals that I have.  SO glad I got this one!

New York Souvenir Part 1

Well I did have time to shop at Hermes and with the £/$ being in my favour I made quite a good saving too which is always good!  So let's see what I brought home:-
The usual orange box...

Cool neutrals revealed....

Yes I had to have another cw of De La Mer Au Ciel!

Birds flying.

Waves crashing.

Fish swimming.

Sea vegetation swaying in the currents.

Lovely sea life amazing how different this cw makes it look!

The full view.

Another 2 in 1 scarf using the 2 diagonals...cool greys here...

Strong blue, black and white here.

Wait til you see it worn - I am really excited about this scarf!

New York 2

No trip to New York is complete without a bit of retail therapy! And there is no shortage of things to see and buy if you so wish - here are a few of things I saw...
Tiffany's - probably one of the most
famous jewellers in New York.
The beautiful "Tiffany Diamond" -
NOT for sale but on display on the
ground floor of Tiffanys.  I was so
pleased photos were allowed!
Some of the lovely jewellery on sale in the
Jewellery Quarter on W47th between 5th
and 6th.  It being a Saturday though not
many shops were open it being the
Sabbath Day.
NY has some crazy things on sale here
some whacky false eyelashes!

All that glitters is not gold...

Cute puppies...

Posh cats...get those ears!

Lovely flowers.....

Then a "cannot believe my eyes moment"
a cup cake ATM!!!

Order and hey presto your cakes arrive in
the dumb waiter to the right - how cool is that?!
At Sephora Colombus Circle an "Eye Pad"....

how clever is this!!  Lip glosses on the
right hand column - I had to have a
couple of  these - just because!

Oh my favourite cookies from
Duane Reade!

Lovely fresh herbs at the Union Square Market

Chamomile flowers for making
your own tea!

The Maple Syrup people - I bought a
mini jug to take home and the lady let
me try some maple syrup candyfloss
which you can just make out hanging
in bags - it was yummy!!

More lovely vegetables.

The view uptown from Union Square.
Near Union Square there as the most
amazing party shop - they had stuff
for parties in every theme and colourway
imaginable I was dumb struck - sadly I
took no photos of it but it was incredible.
I'll just have to go again!

And the ESB gets in on the act.

That's all for this post but save to say
I did meet up with 2 lovely TPFers - stay
tuned to see my New York souvenir and
then I will have to report on the ballet and
exhibition I went to see!!
